What better way to kick off a fund-raiser than with a little bit of cooking and lots of fun. Kidchen Culinary School for kids by generously conducted a cookery workshop for kids aged 6-10 to raise funds for our mosquito-proofing project - The Anti-Mosquito Effect. Elements Restaurant at Kochi was the perfect venue partner!  ".. most of us talk one way and live another. There are a few people who truly, truly walk the talk "- Olympia Dukakis. Don't talk. Just Act. Don't Say. Just Show. Don't Promise. Just Prove.
The Ashoka Tree is happy to prove, we walk the talk. Glimpses from our story-telling & numbers workshop this morning. Who wouldn't like to get their hands dirty? We sure would! And so did these children, as they created pen and phone stands with ice-cream sticks to take home to their families.   Even more exciting was working as a team to create a lamp made entirely out of these sticks. The glow on their faces as the light was switched on sure beat the little bulb! Oh, the bonus? Peeling off dried up glue from our hands together!   |
