3-year-old Dakshita could do with another doll to play with - as could the other 14 children at her anganwadi here in Kandhal, Ooty. Our visit to Kandhal with The MOB Project was enlightening, to say the least. Here was this anganwadi in the midst of tin shacks, with children safely indoors and a teacher willing to teach them more. These are children, some of whom live in those very same tin shacks, with nothing more for entertainment other than what they see at the anganwadi. What a lot they could do with just a couple more books, crayons and toys! If you have books or toys to share with children in Ooty, do get in touch with us at The Ashoka Tree (for donations in Kochi) or The MOB Project (for donations in Ooty) to contribute. One smile today could be a huge grin tomorrow!
